Quality Assurance Implementation

BSES can assist you in the development, design and implementation of your energy efficiency retrofit programs. BSES has experience in assisting a variety of programs for states, agencies, contractors and others.

Assessment/Consulting Services: Many programs need an outside perspective by hands on, experienced professionals to assess contractor capabilities, training resources, quality assurance resources, identifying performance barriers in successful programs and the design and implementation of these programs.

Contractor Outreach: Contractors are the engine to provide successful Home Performance or comprehensive energy efficiency programs. The contractors will drive programs if they have the knowledge, tools and resources. Many programs fall short in the development of their contractors by not providing the proper training, mentoring, and outreach. Programs that invest their resources upfront in letting the contractors drive the market are the most sustainable and successful long term programs.

Contractor Qualification and Approval: BSES has worked extensively with several State, government agencies and other programs in defining contractor requirements including development of contractor screening criteria, contractor approval and tracking contractor performance.

Contractor Training: It is critical to provide contractors with more than national certifications as they need to be able to change their business model to enter the retrofit industry. BSES provides different models of training and consulting to assist the contractor with expediting their entry into the residential or commercial energy efficiency market. This includes train the trainer models, one on one assessments, hands on field mentoring and other comprehensive training programs

Quality Assurance: BSES provides many different types of quality assurance services depending on the needs of the individual program. This may include phone surveys after contractor completes job, review of all contractors reports, random field testing upon completion of work, design of contractor quality assurance, auditor qualifications, development and monitoring of auditor network, etc.

Performance Tracking: Most programs need to track auditor and contractor performance. To successfully measure the performance of any program there must be performance tracking, monitoring, and trending. This assists program managers, contractors and homeowners in delivering programs that deliver real ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

Development of Standards: Small and large programs need to define minimum criteria, standards, and methods for implementing and executing their programs. Let BSES assist you in the development of your program with standardized processes and policies to assure consistency and quality.
